Chapter 360: Sabrina’s Decision

A few minutes ago...

The bridal car arrived at the entrance of the church. Lanny immediately made her way to her brother to inform him.

"Bro, your bride is here!"

Vladimir’s eyes sparkled in delight upon hearing that. He quickly ran toward the bridal car to see Sabrina.

His heart was pounding so hard against his ribs. He couldn’t contain his joy. He was now convinced that Sabrina had finally chosen him.

He could no longer wait to see her. Since the wedding ceremony hadn’t started yet, he wanted to see his bride shortly.

He had just reached the bridal car when Enzo alighted from the driver’s seat. He had a sullen look on his face.

"Brother-in-law!" Vladimir greeted Enzo with a broad smile.

Enzo felt conflicted as he met Vladimir’s joyful gaze. It didn’t take long before the door of the passenger seat was pushed open.

But instead of the bride, Aaron was the one who stepped out of the car.

"Uncle Vladimir," he called out, his innocent eyes filled with worry.

"Aaron, you look good in your suit." Vladimir was in a good mood, complimenting Aaron.

Just when he was about to escort Sabrina out of the car, Vladimir froze upon seeing the empty passenger seat. His bride was not there.

"Where is she?" He hastily turned to Enzo, asking him.

Enzo and Aaron exchanged glances with one another.

It was Aaron who answered Vladimir’s question.

"Uncle V... my Mom accompanied grandpa... to save my Dad."

Vladimir felt like he was struck by a lightning bolt upon hearing Aaron’s words.

’What on earth is he talking about? My Dad took away my bride to save who? Dominique? For what?’

Vladimir staggered back as he shook his head in disbelief.

"I can’t understand..." He was shaken and couldn’t think straight.

Kimmy and Lanny also joined them.

"Hey, what are you standing here for? We need to go inside the church now to start the ceremony!" Lanny said in her cheerful voice, unable to read the room.

Vladimir clenched his fists as he stood frozen in his spot.

"Enzo, please explain..." he uttered under his breath, trying to restrain his raging emotions.

Lanny was confused, darting her gaze back and forth between Enzo and Vladimir.

Meanwhile, Aaron quickly grabbed Kimmy’s hand, dragging her with him.

"Let’s go inside first. The adults need to talk privately."

Kimmy sensed the strange atmosphere around them, so she obediently followed Aaron, saving her questions for later once they were alone.

The two children were quite sensible enough to understand that something was going on with the adults.

When the two children entered the church, Lanny finally realized that Sabrina wasn’t inside the bridal car.

"What’s going on here? Where is the bride?"

After a while, Lanny gasped. "Don’t tell me she ran away?!"

Enzo gave Lanny a warning gaze, making her shut up. Her words were just making things worse.

"Listen, guys... This is what happened..."

"We were on our way here when your father intercepted our car. It seemed urgent. Don Miguel requested Aaron to come with him... This urgent matter was related to Dominique."

"So... my father asked Aaron to come with him, then why is he here? How about Sabrina?" Lanny asked the question on her brother’s behalf.

Vladimir was barely controlling his rage, so he just stayed silent while listening to Enzo’s explanation.

Enzo hesitated for a moment as he glanced at Vladimir.

’Damn it. I know... this is gonna hurt him. But I have to be honest...’ he thought to himself, inhaling deeply.

"Aaron was supposed to go with Don Miguel, however... my sister changed her mind. She sensed the possible danger of stopping Dominique with his revenge plan. So, she volunteered to accompany Don Miguel, instead of exposing Aaron to this dangerous situation."

Vladimir’s expression darkened further upon hearing that. Meanwhile, Lanny was at a loss for words. She never expected that Sabrina would make that choice, knowing that Vladimir had been waiting for her.

For goodness’ sake! Today was their wedding day. But the bride made a detour just to save and stop her ex-husband.

Did this make any sense at all?

Lanny glanced at her brother worriedly. She could tell that her brother was hurt due to Sabrina’s decision.

"Alright. Let’s wait for the bride, then. I’ll inform the priest and the guests that the schedule of the wedding ceremony will be moved a little bit later."

Lanny had decided to handle this concern, still hoping that the wedding ceremony between Vladimir and Sabrina would still be pushed through today.

"So she still chose him over me..." Vladimir mumbled, his voice barely above a whisper.

He balled his fists, his fingernails digging into his flesh. He stood there, heart slowly breaking into tiny pieces.

Vladimir was aware that Sabrina volunteered to go not because of Aaron’s safety. She decided to come with his father to meet Dominique.

No matter how hard Vladimir tried to convince himself that she was just trying to save Dominique’s life, he could still see through her.

Sabrina still had feelings for Dominique. She still loved him.

At that moment, Vladimir let out a low chuckle, covering his face with his hand.

Enzo could only stay quiet, feeling sorry for him. He didn’t know how he would console him. After all, he was also aware of Sabrina’s lingering feelings for Dominique.

’I knew it... this is bound to happen. My sister can’t avoid this. I just hope... she will be able to fix everything once she comes back.’

Enzo tapped Vladimir’s shoulder. It wasn’t enough to comfort him. But he just wanted to let him know that he could understand how he felt.

After gathering his emotions, Vladimir also made up his mind. He strode toward the church, facing the guests who were sitting on the chairs. Enzo trailed behind him.

"Everyone, I would like to apologize, but today’s wedding is not going to happen. You don’t have to wait here anymore. The bride is not coming..."

Everyone was stunned by his sudden declaration. The church was filled with quiet whispers, wondering what happened to the bride.

Vladimir didn’t explain further as he turned around to leave. Both Lanny and Enzo were left stunned, unable to say a word. They just watched the guests who started to step out of the church.

"This time... I will really scold your sister, Enzo!" Lanny said.

She was going to follow Vladimir, but Enzo stopped her.

"Give him space, Lanny. I think Vladimir wants to be alone for now. He just made a very difficult decision..."

Lanny pursed her lips, her eyes turning red. She wanted to cry.

"Why now, Enzo? Why? My brother has been looking forward to this wedding. He had so many sleepless nights. This is so unfair. Sabrina should have been more honest with my brother! I... I can’t believe she has done this..." Lanny couldn’t stop herself from venting out her frustrations.

She began punching Enzo’s chest.

"I know... I can’t justify my sister’s actions. But... we need to let them settle this. We don’t have the right to judge them... Instead, we should support them and understand their decisions."

Enzo gently wiped Lanny’s tears before pulling her into a hug.

"I’m apologizing on my sister’s behalf. Please try to understand her. Don’t hate her, Lanny. Give her a chance to explain."
