Chapter 200: A Trick On The Mind?
Chapter 200: A Trick On The Mind?
Jason had renounced his new position but he was aware of the dangers that lurked and knew it was about time for him to converse with Chronos.
"What is the problem with Chronos? It has been rather quiet..." Jason muttered but Chronos was a lot more passive than it was.
[[Is there something you need, Jason?]] Chronos asked but this wasn’t the case.
Jason didn’t need anything from him but just wanted to know what it had been up to.
"The fragment, why isn’t it attracting zombies anymore?" Jason asked and Chronos was obligated to answer him.
[[The fragment is now under control, the residue is not longer leaking from your body]]
Chronos informed him but Jason didn’t undergo any special training to get it under control so how did it suddenly become tamed?
"Did you have something to do with this, Chronos?" Jason asked.
[[That is correct, I’m keeping the residue from oozing out of your body]]
Chronos informed him but Jason was confused by this. He wanted to delve deeper but his thought process was interrupted by a scream.
A scream echoed not far from where he was and Jason dashed in that direction without hesitation.
Jason knew they couldn’t afford any more calamities and if he could, he wanted to prevent it.
Franklin’s death didn’t sit right with him, Jason knew that Franklin might be a piece of shit but he was a good man that did what was necessary for the community.
This included sacrificing people as seen when he didn’t react when Jason executed one of their own to save their lives.
This gave Jason an idea of the kind of man he was but Franklin didn’t look like one to betray.
He risked his life for supplies, he didn’t have to but he did.
This didn’t sound like someone with ill intentions for the community, he had taken a look at the suicide note written by Franklin but something didn’t sit right with him.
There was no evidence to support that it was written by Franklin, the only evidence they had was that it was on him.
Jason noticed it was something trivial, a drunk man strutting about and being a paranoid degenerate by screaming at random intervals.
"Hey stranger..." Something else interrupted his thought process, it was a feminine voice and without turning around, Jason responded.
"Hey Shantel," Jason greeted her as he turned to face her, as usual, she was dressed in revealing clothes and Jason’s eyes couldn’t help but wander.
"You have been avoiding me, did I do something wrong?" Shantel asked right away, getting straight to the point.
"Avoiding you? Don’t be silly Shantel... I have been busy, this community is a lot more vulnerable than we thought," Jason responded.
He tried his best to keep his eyes focused on her face because if it wandered down, there was no way he wouldn’t have dirty thoughts.
"I have noticed that but we should spend some time together," Shantel wasn’t backing down, she knew that this was just an excuse and she blamed Rachel for what was happening.
She grabbed Jason’s hand before he could give her response and something in him switched.
"I know I’m not the only one missing what we had," Shantel whispered seductively and she was right.
Jason missed fucking her but he could resist the temptation by avoiding tempting situations with her.
One-on-one situations were a big no but he understood that things might not go as he planned now that she was right in front of him.
Jason broke free from her hold and shoved her back, he had to regain his composure.
"Shantel... Stop it..." Jason warned her but Shantel simply smiled at this resolve.
She watched Jason walk away but her mouth watered, this was such a turn on and she took this as a challenge.
"I will have you, Jason..." Shantel thought to herself.
-
Jason managed to get away from her but the flashbacks that followed were intense.
[[Lust Meter: 10%!]]
"No, no..." Jason thought to himself with a faint smile, he had to keep his thoughts under control.
[[Lust Meter: 0%!]]
Chronos informed him, Jason managed to suppress his lust but this showed that he didn’t have full control over such things.
The fact that Shantel was able to arouse him in such little time was proof of this, if this was in a private place there was no telling what could happen.
"Chronos... Did you notice anything strange in the letter I read a few months back?" Jason asked Chronos, trying to distract himself from sinful thoughts.
This was the first time he had taken a personal interest in Franklin’s case and this was due to the recent change it inspired.
[[No]]
Chronos’ answer was straightforward, he had no reason to beat around the bush because this was Jason trying to play detective for a case that had already been solved.
"I thought as much..." Jason thought but he soon ran into Bella, it had been a while since he spent time with them.
They all had their lives outside of each other and this meant that their interaction naturally decreased but this was also because Jason was avoiding people he had had a sexual history with for the sake of his relationship and the condition that Rachel had given him.
He knew his weakness so he avoided putting himself in those situations.
"Hey Jason, can we talk?" Bella requested, Jason had no reason to refuse and he accepted.
He noticed that she looked distraught and wondered what it was that could be bothering her.
They walked to a secluded corner where it was just the two of them.
"Jason... There is something seriously wrong with this place..." Bella said; this was random.
"What do you mean?" Jason asked with a raised brow.
"It is Allison... She has been in contact with the other Specters... You need to figure out what is going on," Bella warned him and Jason wasn’t happy about this because there was only one reason why she would still be in contact with them.
"Don’t tell me...." Jason thought to himself, clenching his fist in anger.
